United States Intervention
Throughout the Cold war, the main goal for the United States was to stop any spread of Communism, and thus when they believed Communism had spread to their own doorsteps, immediate change followed. Many were fighting to show they were not Communist, and that they supported any effort to stop the spread of communism, not only within their own country, but around the world as well.
This immediate fear in the spread of communism is shown by the amount of money that the United States spend at that time, during the cold war, which is said to be about 8 trillion dollars.
