Joseph Stalin
Joseph Stalin was a major leader of the Soviet Union who joined it from 1922 until his death in 1953. Stalin had views which consisted of spreading communism throughout the world while starting by conquering most of Eastern Europe. U.S's opposition to this gradually started the Cold war and eventually the fight for the Middle East had Started.
Nikita Khrushchev
After Joseph Stalin's death Nikita Khrushchev was the second leader of the Soviet Union to lead during the Cold War. Nikita Khrushchev strongly believed that Missiles could mean well for his national defense. His reliance on missiles nearly started a Nuclear Conflict through the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Leonid Brezhnev
After Nikita Khrushchev left office Leonid Brezhnev replaced him in 1964 to 1982. While in power Brezhnev expanded the military power of the Soviet Union. Through his term he attempted to push his political influence into the Middle East.
